Happy Monday! Is that even possible? I’ve spent most of the day working on my AP World History summer homework :-p . It’s not fun at. all. Hopefully you guys are having a more exciting Monday than I am!
Luckily, my nail polish today is basically excitement in a bottle! Today I have for you a Rue Beauté nail polish called Show Stopper (OMG IT HAS A NAME THIS TIME!!!!!) and it really is a party in a bottle. Its predominant color is gold mini hex glitters (and they’re very dense), but there are also larger hex glitters in all colors of the rainbow mixed in! Silver, green, orange, light blue, pink, and yellow. The glitters are so dense, they don’t need any undercoats of another color- they’re opaque by themselves in 2-3 coats! How awesome is that?! The texture of the polish does dry a little rough, but nothing 1-2 coats of topcoat won’t smooth out. Pictures below are with 3 coats of Show Stopper, and one coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Color in “Flawless” as a topper.
This polish is also gorgeous in the sun, but the sun isn’t cooperating today (or yesterday, either!). It’s been cloudy for 48 hours here. Hopefully I’ll get some sun soon, my blog is begging for it!
So what do you think of this glitter-tastic polish? Just a warning- it’s a bear to remove. The foil method (soaking a cotton ball in acetone, pressing it to the nail, and wrapping the whole thing in tin foil for 10 minutes before removing) should ease the process. Rue Beauté nail polishes can be purchased in Rue 21 stores (typically there’s a 2 for $5 sale, but if not, they’re $3 a piece) or on their website, here.
